Dr Elle Noonan grew up in Cairns before relocating to Brisbane in 1997 to study Science and Medicine at the University of Queensland. Completing her Bachelor of Science in 1999 and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2003.

Commencing at Princess Alexandra Hospital as an Intern, she quickly gravitated to surgical rotations where she found her passion as a doctor. Dr Noonan completed her Basic Surgical Training with the Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007 and trained in General Surgery prior to ENT. She worked in diverse regional centres in Queensland including Cairns, Mackay, Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast. ENT training saw her move to tertiary teaching hospitals in Brisbane, including the Queensland Children’s Hospital and rotations to
the Gold Coast University Hospital. It was during her time training on the Gold Coast that she fell in love with the Coast’s vibrant atmosphere and lifestyle and attracted her to return for good.

During Dr Noonan’s ENT training she had the opportunity to relocate to London to train further in Paediatric ENT. She worked in the tertiary ENT Department for Kings College Hospital and Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 2014. Spending the year predominantly with the team at Evelina Children’s Hospital, the largest children’s hospital in South London. Dr Noonan participated in clinical research during her year abroad, presenting and being awarded first prize for research at the British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngology Annual Meeting, she also lectured at the historic Semon Club annual ENT London event. On her return to Australia she was awarded the Jean Littlejohn Prize for Research with the Australasian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS). She went on to complete her ENT training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2020.

Dr Noonan has worked at the Gold Coast University Hospital from 2017 to 2022, actively engaging in clinical research, teaching medical students, mentoring ENT training surgeons and is currently a Senior Lecturer with Griffith University.

As the proud mother of three children, Dr Noonan, is skilled with caring for children and understands the needs of parents. She offers a full range of services
for kids with ENT issues and has general ENT comprehensively covered. She caters for the full range of ENT emergencies, voice disorders, sinus pathology, investigating and managing neck and thyroid lumps.

Dr Noonan is excited to be joining the Gold Coast Private Hospital team in 2021.
